Inevitably, Earth Day 2020 will look different than it
ever has due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, there are still many ways to
participate in the 50th anniversary of the global environmental movement. Earth Day Network has announced that they have partnered up with the social network We Don’t Have Time and Exponential Roadmap
to present a live stream of what’s expected to be the world’s largest-ever
online climate conference. Starting on April 20, the world’s key experts, from
United Nations representatives and government officials to scientists and
organization campaigners, will join forces for five days to collaborate on what’s
needed to build a better future to avert the largest crisis humanity has ever faced.
More localized Earth Day events may be available in
your area through a digital format. Taking a pledge to go pesticide-free,
committing to reduce meat from one’s diet or organizing an online community
climate discussion are some other ways to honor the cause safely from home.
