The 13th annual Taste of Wellspring event and fundraiser, featuring a gourmet dinner prepared by local chefs, takes place 5 to 8 p.m., September 8, at the Urban Ecology Center’s location at the Washington Park Pavilion. The event will allow attendees to celebrate the harvest and taste food from Wellspring’s certified organic farm. There will also be a raffle with prizes: a gift certificate for $250 worth of pasteurized beef and pork; two overnight and breakfast stays at Wellspring B&B (worth $190); a winter share of Wellspring farm produce valued at $180; and a family membership to Riveredge Nature Center, along with their homemade pancake mix and maple syrup, worth $75.

Wellspring is a nonprofit education and retreat center whose mission is to inspire and teach people to grow, prepare and eat healthy food. In so doing, they transform food systems and build communities.
