The Enerqi Center for Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine now offers counseling by partnering with Insightful Path Counseling, LLC, and licensed professional counselor Aaron Schricker, a graduate of Lakeland University with a Master of Arts in counseling.

“Therapeutic change can come when clients are provided a safe environment in which to feel heard and accepted. I am excited to provide counseling services in the West Allis, Wauwatosa and New Berlin area,” says Schricker, who is also a Buddhist practitioner. He believes that utilizing mindfulness and meditation techniques can help anyone become more in tune with the inner self and their own wants and needs.

Psychotherapy is the process of talking about thoughts, emotions, bodily feelings and behaviors and their effects on our daily lives. Schricker notes that the brain naturally focuses most of its power on trying to find solutions to problems. Usually, the problem is with the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that the patient doesn’t like, which causes them to struggle and beat themselves up. Psychotherapy can help patients learn how to accept their emotions and behaviors, and how to take steps to effectively change them.
