Janine Trede and Monica Latus are offering an aromatherapy certificate series beginning January 29 at Angel Light Center for the Healing Arts, in Elm Grove. The certificate program will start with Introduction to Aromatherapy, teaching students how essential oils interact with the body on a cellular level to impart their innate healing abilities. Students will also learn how to select and use essential oils safely.

In continuing classes, students will learn about 11 commonly used essential oils, their contraindications and when and why to use them. Classes will teach blending techniques, as well as how to use music, crystals and intention to enhance aromatherapy products. The final class in the series will focus on aromatherapy for stress and pain management.

Trede and Latus are both certified aromatherapists with 280 hours of education. They hold certifications and training in a variety of healing modalities, including reiki, herbal and mind/body medicine, chakra, crystal and sound healing, reflexology and acupressure. They enjoy working together and have found educational and healing synergy while working in tandem at Angel Light.
