Victory Garden Initiative Celebrates Community Bonds and Urban Agriculture
Victory Garden Initiative (VGI), a nonprofit that empowers communities to grow their own food and promotes socially just food systems, will hold its second Community FarmRaiser, beginning at 4 p.m., September 19, at Concordia Gardens. The community celebration of neighborhood bonds and urban agriculture will include Amilinda, Braise and other community restaurants.
New Age Narcissism and other local bands will perform, and VGI Executive Director Gretchen Mead will lead garden tours. Community FarmRaiser began last year, when more than 250 guests turned out for the event.
Admission is free. Location: Concordia Gardens, intersection of Concordia and Palmer, Harambee. For more information or to register, visit VictoryGardenInitiative.org/FarmRaiser.
