Treasures of Oz Eco-Tour Promotes Sustainability and Fun

Six parks, preserves and nature areas throughout Ozaukee County will be featured in the sixth annual Treasures of Oz Eco Tour, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 20. The event features activities for all ages, including live demonstrations, hands-on activities and hikes led by scientists and naturalist educators.

The outing allows explorers to download a visitor’s passport and tour Mequon Nature Preserve, Cedarburg Bog, Covered Bridge Park, Ulao Creek Restoration project, Waubedonia County Park and the USFWS Blue Wing Waterfowl Production Area.

The tour wraps up at the Forest Beach Migratory Preserve, where participants can hear talks by birding and wildlife experts from noon to 6 p.m., visit the exhibits, sample food from Smokin’ Joe’s BBQ, enjoy music by Steve & Friends and more.
