Gardening expert Melinda Myers will give a talk, Easy and Affordable Landscape Makeovers, at 9 a.m., May 10, at the Ruth Knoll Theatre of the Schauer Arts & Activities Center. Presented by the Hartford Garden Club, along with Hahn’s Ace Hardware of Hartford and Delafield, Myers will answer audience questions and sign copies of her books after the talk. She has authored more than 20 volumes, and is often a guest expert on radio and television shows.

The Hartford Garden Club, a volunteer group that has beautified Hartford public spaces with landscaping and flower gardens since 2004, will soon launch its ambitious Downtown Riverbank Project, which involves digging out the riverbank next to Main Street and rebuilding it Alpine-style.
