Victory Garden Initiative (VGI) will hold the fourth annual Fruity Nutty Affair, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., February 22, at the Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center, in Milwaukee.

The event, which features live swing music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, honors the winners of the annual VGI Fruity Nutty 5 Contest. Open through February 7, the contest awards up to 30 fruit and nut trees to five Milwaukee County neighborhoods with the goal of promoting the ability of local communities to grow their own food.

VGI is a nonprofit that promotes sustainable and socially just food systems by providing urban agricultural and gardening projects and education.
