Angel Light Center for the Healing Arts will begin a new Reiki training program through its educational division, The Art of Healing School of Energy Medicine, in Elm Grove. Beginning in January, the Reiki for Health Care Providers series will be taught by Becky Lange, a registered nurse and Reiki master.

The training will focus on integrating the important benefits of Reiki energy medicine and applying them in healthcare settings. It begins with a science-based introduction class and continues with emergency room treatment techniques, as well as policies and protocols. Attendees will learn Reiki and energy techniques to help relieve pain, anxiety and respiratory difficulties. Also included in the curriculum are how to introduce Reiki to coworkers, Reiki treatment documentation and the ethics of complementary and alternative medicine.
