Great Lakes Bioneers Chicago Annual Event
Great Lakes Bioneers Chicago hosts the second annual Bioneers event from November 1 through 3 at the Chicago campus of Roosevelt University. This year’s theme, Celebrating Community Resilience, will bring together a diverse group of leading innovators to exchange ideas, build networks and inspire a shift to live on the Earth in ways that honor the web of life, each other and future generations. The gathering will incorporate music, dance, poetry and more than 24 workshops, skill-shares and interactive discussions, all led by Chicago area professionals.
The weekend event boasts seven keynote speakers, including author and ecologist Sandra Steingraber, human ecologist John Michael Greer, and Professor David Orr, Ph.D., the creator of the Oberlin Sustainability Project. The six topics for the Friday intensives are water, waste, energy, food, shelter and community resilience. Saturday and Sunday will feature an onsite bookstore and an exhibit hall promoting Chicago’s change-makers.
