As part of their commitment to healthy people and pets, Dr. Jodie Gruenstern, owner of the Animal Doctor Holistic Veterinary Complex, is sponsoring the pet division of the Muskego Pioneer 5K Run/Walk, along with Dr. Janice Jurack, owner and head chiropractor of the Muskego Health and Wellness Center. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 8, at Veteran’s Park, in Muskego. All entry proceeds from the pet division will be donated to Pets for Vets, a nonprofit that connects military veterans with shelter pets that the organization rescues and trains. “This event celebrates the human animal bond and the desire to live a healthy lifestyle for pets and people through physical exercise and fresh air,” says Gruenstern.
All participants will receive a goody bag and T-shirt; register by May 31 to guarantee shirt size. Dog walkers that register through the Animal Doctor also receive a commemorative bandana for their dog. After the race, an awards ceremony begins at 11 a.m. in Veteran’s Park, and a block party, featuring street bowling, refreshments and live music, runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $35 until May 1; $40 through June 6; $45 on race day. Location: W182 S8200 Racine Ave., Muskego. To register, visit AnimalDoctorMuskego.com/events/muskego-pioneer-5k-runwalk. For more details about the race, visit MuskegoPioneer5K.eventbrite.com.
