Welcoming Spring - Public Guided Forest Therapy Walk

Join Intentionally Outdoors for a guided Forest Therapy walk to welcome in the spring season.

After a long winter, spring is here. We will gather and take time to welcome the arrival of a new season. Join Intentionally Outdoors on a 2 hour guided Forest Therapy walk in Grant Park. Our walks are designed for adults aged 18 and older. Please register and pay in advance, as only registered participants can join. These gentle and restorative walks are designed for all activity levels and usually cover less than one mile.

What is Forest Therapy?

Forest Therapy, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or forest bathing, involves immersing yourself in nature through all five senses. A certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide leads you through a series of sensory based invitations that encourage mindful interactions with nature. These walks are not a traditional hike, exercise or naturalist walk, instead Forest Therapy focuses on nurturing your relationship with nature and yourself, fostering relaxation and rejuvenation. It is a practice where we slow down, awaken our senses and reconnect to the land.

Potential Health Benefits:

  • Reduction in stress and anxiety
  • Improved quality of sleep
  • Improved cognitive functioning and creativity
  • Burnout prevention
  • Deeper connection with nature
  • And more…

Gwen Ripp is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy guide. Nature and Forest Therapy Guides are not licensed therapists and do not diagnose or treat mental or emotional health conditions. Their role is to facilitate a nature-based experience for personal enrichment and connection.

If these public walks are not a convenient time for you feel free to reach out to Intentionally Outdoors. We offer private walks where we can find a time and place that is convenient to you or your group.
