Through an intimate group setting, naturopathic doctor Sarah Axtell of Lakeside Natural Medicine will educate patients on osteopenia and osteoporosis, as well as multiple ways to harness the power of nutrients to build and sustain dense bones. The Osteoporosis Group Visit Series consists of two 75-minute visits on Thursday, May 9, and Thursday, June 6. It will cover how to eat and cook for healthy bones, the pros and cons of conventional drug treatments, nutritional tests that are important for bone health, and supplements and exercises for strong bones.
Participants will work together with the doctor in a hands-on environment to prepare and taste mineral-rich foods. At the end of the visit, all patients will leave with a wellness packet that includes recommendations for a therapeutic diet, lifestyle interventions, recipes, resources and supplements.
“My goal with this Osteoporosis Group Visit Series is to facilitate a support network among women and give them tools to optimize bone density. Good bone health starts with good nutrition,” says Axtell.
