Victory Garden Initiative (VGI) will hold the fifth annual Fruity Nutty Affair, beginning at 7 p.m., February 28, at Villa Filomena, in Milwaukee.

The event, which will feature an enchanted forest-themed photo booth, a live and silent auction, an extended complimentary cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres from many of Milwaukee’s famed restaurants, honors the winners of the annual Fruity Nutty 5 contest. Open through February 9, the contest awards five Milwaukee County neighborhoods with fruit and nut trees to promote sustainable, nutritious food sources for local communities.

VGI is a grassroots nonprofit that empowers communities to grow food and promotes a socially just food system through urban agricultural and gardening projects, education and leadership development.
