Wellness University Educational Series Continues
John Whitcomb
John Whitcomb, M.D., the owner of Brookfield Longevity Clinic, continues his informative, comprehensive educational series, Wellness University, in February, May, September and November. The first of the four modules in the 2015 sequence includes presentations in four areas: Autoimmune Disease, Good Versus Bad Fats, Mindfulness and a Practical Cooking Demonstration. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., February 20, at Greenfield Park Pavilion, in West Allis.
According to Whitcomb, 40 percent of women have some type of autoimmune disease and the number is rising. Wellness University participants will learn how to test for potential health concerns and turn them around by succeeding in self-care. The one hour dedicated to mindfulness will be instructed by guest leader Chris Smith, a licensed and certified family therapist who completed the mindfulness-based stress reduction professional training program of Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Whitcomb is board certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, where he is a fellowship graduate. He is also a diplomate of the Scripps Institute and board certified in holistic and integrative medicine.
