Man with Muscular Dystrophy Walks Wisconsin, Releases Book
Between 2001 and 2009, Bradley Carlson completed a walk across Wisconsin that covered more than 1,040 miles and included every incorporated city in Wisconsin and every suburb of Milwaukee, as well as Wisconsin Avenue from Wauwatosa to the Milwaukee Art Museum, through the Veteran’s Park and to the Milwaukee Harbor. The most remarkable feature of this trek is that Carlson has muscular dystrophy. In January 2012, he published a book about his experience called Wisconsin 1 Step at a Time: Taking Steps to Trample Muscular Dystrophy.
“Every person copes with his or her difficulties in life,” says Carlson. Readers will identify with the struggles faced by the author as he completed this daunting adventure. “It is an uplifting story which will benefit them by its message of getting through whatever comes their way,” he adds.
