Musical Mondays
Music is effective for relaxation and stress management. Listening to music can reduce stress in a number of ways, including: Lowering cortisol. Music can reduce the production of cortisol, the hormone associated with stress. This can help reduce the body's fight-or-flight response. Increasing dopamine Music can increase dopamine levels, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and relaxation. Music can help moderate heart rate and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the "rest and digest" system.
Please bring an instrument(s) of your choice. If you wish you may bring a small dish or snack to pass around.
